I am a PhD student with a Bachelor degree in Psychology and a Master degree in Cognitive Neurosciences.
I am studying human olfaction and how it can affect our emotions, cognition, physiology (respiration and heart activity) and brain activity using ElectroEncephalogram (EEG). More specifically, I am investigating whether pleasant odors (using essential oils) could induce a state of relaxation (both subjectively and physiologically), and how this particular state could impact memory consolidation during wakeful rest.
