Serge Pinto is a senior CNRS researcher at the LPL (Laboratoire Parole et Langage, UMR 7309, CNRS/Aix-Marseille Université), his work is mainly dedicated to the understanding of speech alteration in movement disorders from a neurolinguistics perspective). He will be presenting on "Dysarthria in Parkinson’s disease : from pathophysiology to rehabilitation care".
Abstract:
Studying the pathophysiology of speech (and to some extent, language) disorders in Parkinson's disease is of crucial importance, because they strongly contribute to the social isolation of patients. The impact of treatments, particularly deep brain stimulation, on this symptom remains to be fully understood. In addition, speech therapy has a key place in the holistic care of patients. This intervention aims to connect all of these elements for a better understanding of dysarthria in Parkinson's disease.
Next seminars:
- 13/06: Franck Ramus (Laboratoire de Sciences Cognitives et Psycholinguistique, Département d'Etudes Cognitives, ENS Paris) on the Genetics of Language.
- 11/07: Valentina Borghesani (Neurobiology of Concepts Expressions Laboratory, University of Geneva) on the neurobiology of semantics in Primary Progressive Aphasia.
- 17/10: Maud Pélissier (Université Paris Cité, CLILLAC-ARP) on English L2 acquisition (to be confirmed)
