Brief Bio:
Dr. Erin Wamsley began her academic career as a liberal arts student at Guilford College in North Carolina, before completing her doctoral studies at the City University of New York, working with pioneering dream researcher John Antrobus. After obtaining her Ph.D. in 2007, Dr. Wamsley began a postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and was later promoted to Instructor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, where she served until 2014. In her current role as director of the Furman University Sleep Laboratory and Associate Professor of Psychology at Furman University, Dr. Wamsley and her research group study how the brain processes memories during sleep and resting wakefulness, as well as the relationship of sleep-dependent memory processing to dream experiences.
