Sleep is a phenomenon that exists in the entire animal world and whose function is still quite mysterious. Through a multimodal and integrated study of the order Squamates (lizards and snakes), this thesis seeks to decipher the sleep of lizards in order to better understand the origin of slow-wave sleep and REM sleep found in mammals.
