On Thursday May 22, the CRNL welcomed Professor Ardem Patapoutian, winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, who was invited to France by the CNRS as part of the “CNRS fellow-ambassadors” program. This scheme enables eminent figures from the world of research to spend time in French laboratories, with the aim of promoting French research and contributing to its dynamism through mentoring.
His visit was punctuated by a tour of the premises, a lecture open to the Lyon community and numerous exchanges with our supervisory bodies and partners, the CRNL teams and students and young researchers, who were able to benefit from his experience and exchange views with him in small groups.
His lecture "May the Force be with you! Piezo channels in mechanosensory biology" was a real success, with almost 130 participants!
