The PRME project, funded to the tune of 450 k€ over 4 years, aims to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the neurodevelopmental abnormalities associated with RNU4ATAC mutations. Various models will be used, from patient cells to brain organoids derived from induced pluripotent stem cells, including zebrafish. The approaches considered include single-cell transcriptomics, proteomics, electrophysiology and optogenetics, etc.

The funding allows the recruitment of a PhD student, Cyril Jovani, and a post-doctoral bioinformatician fellow to be recruited.
